Mental Health Advocate

Shahnaz is our Mental Health Advocate, she offers sensitive and culturally aware wellbeing support.  Shahnaz works both with groups and one to one with her clients. Keeping the mind and body healthy are important components in her work, and Shahnaz looks at all areas surroundings her clients situations to affect as great a transformation as possible.

For Shahnaz Hopscotch is about team spirit, a place where she feels supported and empowered, allowing her to focus more fully on clients and the work involved. 

 

Employment Advisor

Shahanaz is our Employment Advisor at Hopscotch, she believes it is never too late to learn something new. Building confidence is key to success! Hopscotch allows her to empower and build self-esteem with the women she works with. For Shahanaz this is very rewarding.

Wellbeing Lead

Luthfa is our Wellbeing Lead. She works across all services using the 'by and for' model, being trauma informed and culturally sensitive. 

Luthfa is constantly endeavouring to capture learning and to communicate this across a broad spectrum of partners and stakeholders, as well as sharing knowledge and insight of the realities and challenge of participation. 

For Luthfa, being at Hopscotch is having the privilege of listening to the many brave stories and being a little part of their recovery and respite.

Programmes Manager

As Programmes Manager, Fairuz manages Hopscotch's Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) service, Welfare Advice Service and Mental Health Advocacy service. 

Fairuz is a qualified Barrister as well as a VAWG, Trauma-Informed Practice and Human Rights Expert.

 

VAWG Advocates

Our team of domestic violence advocates support women who are either at risk of abuse or who are victims. They are a diverse team who speak various languages, and who have a wealth of experience. They are proud to work in a trauma informed way which centres the needs of the women who come to them.

Welfare and Benefits Advisor

Ruji has spent years supporting the hardest hit citizens with gentle but effective support, to help them out of really difficult situations. She thinks it’s incredible working for a charity as a bilingual Welfare Advisor to ensure that service users can access their rights.

Older Women’s Project Coordinator

Shamin has worked at Hopscotch for over 20 years as a project coordinator. She has a wealth of experience throughout the charity, plus many community languages. Camden has the second-largest Bengali community in the UK and Shamim loves working within the community and particularly enjoys working at Hopscotch with its platform to help to deliver much-needed services and provide access to anyone who needs help.

Youth Project Coordinator

Lamya is a youth worker and project coordinator from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is interested in how creative practices encourage meaningful self-expression and build confidence. Her approaches are participant-centred and firmly grounded in abolitionist and decolonial feminist politics.

 

Senior Youth Worker

Her approach to her work is based on the firm belief that once things are done right today, things will be better for young people tomorrow.
